14th Century Strongbow monument
Original 12th century tomb was destroyed in
the 16th century and this one was used to replace it. The
Anglo-Norman Strongbow (Richard fitz Gilbert de Clare - 12th
century) helped conquer Dublin and return it to King Diarmait,
who in turn gave Strongbow his daughter Affe in marriage.
